Listed is an example for the cost incurred when students travel to compete with a school athletics team. This cost would have to be divided among the amount of students participating on the team.
Registration: $ 300.00 -$ 400.00
Hotel rooms: $120.00-$140.00, 4 students per room (possibly 4 rooms $ 480.00)
Busing: $ 1.20-$ 1.30 per kilometer
Slave Lake to Hinton would cost roughly
350 km x $1.20= $ 420.00, return would cost $ 840.00
Total tournament cost: $1300.00
Each Team would travel a minimum of two tournaments to possibly 6 making their season costs anywhere from $ 3000.00 to $7000.00
This would result in students having to pay team fees that could range from $100.00 a season to $ 400.00
